Syrah from Gruyere in the Yarra Valley, 20% whole bunch. Lovely deep broody colour. Smells very meaty; earthy, savoury. The palate is surprisingly fruit driven, ripe blackberry, pepper, great tannin with a whiff of vanilla and teracotta in the long finish. Lovely modern Australian Shiraz.
