Philip Lobley Kinglake Pinot Noir 2021 750ml

From a small vineyard at 550m ASL in Kinglake, that only produces enough fruit for release in great years, 2021 certainly was one of those! Inviting bright colour, great to sniff with strawberry dominant, a little beetroot and plum, some blood orange and spice. Soft, juicy palate runs the strawberry and spice line until a quirky herbaceous pithy bitter kick towards the finish, rather unusually there is a pleasant bitter herbal note that reminds me of an Amaro, lovely, but unusual. Best bits of a Negroni & plonk in the one glass.
