Morris Signature Rutherglen Single Malt Whisky 40% 700ml

This whisky was matured in a variety of ex-fortified wine casks from Morris Rutherglen winery. Doesn't exactly leap out of the glass, but with some agitation, you can fill your nostrils with happy smells like marzipan, fruit cake, cinnamon scroll, some pastry. The palate is medium-bodied and tastes like hot cross buns, barley sugar, with a gentle five spice and mint finish. It's more single malt whisky than it is Australian whisky - those looking for the archetypal Australian GRUNT will not find it here, however, the balance and delivery of this whisky is such that it will win hearts and minds the world over. Very good, for the money - glorious. 40.0% alc/vol.
