Lino Ramble Solitaire Grillo 2021 750ml

The 2020 Grillo was a cracking drink that we never quite got enough of. It broke a few hearts when we had to tell people it was all gone. Chuffed to have this new one back. Lino Ramble wines are made with sustainability at heart, perhaps more so than others who make the same claim. Winemaker Andy Coppard uses varieties that are better for the planet; in this case, he's of the view Chardonnay uses too much water, so he's gone and used Grillo grapes and made the wine using common Chardonnay techniques; malolactic fermentation, lees stirring, some barrel ferments and sure enough the resultant wine is very Chardy-esque; it is rich, creamy, full of stonefruit and balanced by a little pith, there's some nuts, nougat and spice there too. It really is yum, and by all accounts, the planet will thank us for making this choice, too.
