Lino Ramble Blind Man's Bluff Bastardo 2020 750ml

Bastardo grapes from McLaren Vale, not much left of it in Australia (it's also called Trousseau). It grows really well here, and makes awesome red wine for the table or the couch, and requires far less water than many other varieties. This wine has a quirky kaleidoscopic nose; dark chocolate orange, then tilt the glass and it smells like a bloody mary - both such distinct aromas that appear individually, thankfully never at the same time. The palate is medium bodied, plush, dry and savoury; cherry cola, plum, then tomato leaf, spices, pepper. Dry, delicious, interesting. Wish there was more reds like this around.
