Jansz LD Vintage Cuvee 2015 750ml

I have not sat down and tasted this wine in a formal setting like I have most others in the shop, where a rep or winemaker brings bottles in. This wine I selected because I used to work for the company that owns Jansz and I used to buy it on my staff account at a very special price. We have used it for so many special occasions over the years because it is so consistent and reliable. Most recently we took a bottle around to a good friend's house and shared it, so the notes are a little different; but it poured a deep golden colour and smelled incredible. Intense toasty aromas with strawberry and cherry jam on top, full bodied palate with great fizz and zip, the toastiness rules the roost - with a strawberry and cream background and a booming crisp dry finish, again featuring the toastiness, but this time some marmalade and peach joins the party. Truly a magnificent sparkling wine experience, which is more than you can say for many Champagne wines at this price.
