If the Hawkers barrel-aged imperial stout releases are running, this is the crawl and walk in-between. This is their stout flavoured stout without sparkles or glitter. It pours an impenetrable black, with tan foam and smells like fresh plunger coffee, chocolate, and potting mix. The palate continues the roasty, bitter earthy theme, medium-bodied, profoundly dry with a gentle bitterness. It's simple, but what's there is perfect. Great beer.
