Franco Mondo Monferrato Bianco 2019 750ml

This wine is produced from 1/3 Favorita - also known as Vermentino, Cortese & Chardonnay grapes grown on Franco Mondo's vineyards in Piedmont, Italy. It spent 10 months on lees and was produced without the use of oak. It pours a pale gold colour, and has a gentle perfumey, stonefruit & gooseberry driven nose. The palate is lean, dry, savoury and textured - it is a very serious wine, a luxurious wine that is immensely satisfying without being super flashy or opulent. It is an experience that is difficult to articulate; it is an absolutely smashing wine that well... just tastes like lovely dry white wine. It does not commit one way or another, it's just good grog for the sake of being good grog. We love it and think you will too, but would understand someone baulking at this review. I guess the tl:dr; is - this wine is for when you feel like something heckin' fancy, but don't know what. Does that work? 13.5% alc/vol.
