Charlish & Co Tinto 2021 750ml

Charlish & Co is a wine label headed up by Bec Stubbs, partner of Duane Coates of Coates wines. These wines tread the familiar minimal intervention path, with a focus on sustainability and environmental impact. A similar ethos underpin's Bec's takes on her wines. This wine was made from Tempranillo grown in the Adelaide Hills and a splash of Cabernet from Langhorne Creek. It pours a really deep broody colour and smells like chocolate, mulberry, blueberry, five spice and a little floral end note. The palate is a little different to wha the nose suggests; medium bodied, with sweet sticky cherry juice up front then it twists into a herbaceous, dry savoury leather and earthy finish. It's a really well put together, interesting red wine that's great for the table or the couch, if you're up for something a little different.
