Allevare Single Vineyard Gippsland Chardonnay 2022 750ml

Chardy grown on the Allevarre property in Maffra, Victoria. Tiny production of a single barrel, which is a shame because the wine is a great example of what Modern Australian Chardonnay is all about; perfumed nose; peaches & cream, waxy apple, cashew, and nectarine. It's full-bodied, but so soft, creamy and polite. Weight-wise, it feels on the bigger end - you sort of brace for a harshness and abrasive character that just doesn't show up. The wine leaves, and you think, wow. Should do that again some time soon.
