MDI Wines Ansonica 2021 750ml

MDI Wines Ansonica 2021 750ml

It pours a very pale gold colour with grapefruit, mandarin and orange on the nose, it's delicate, but bright and fresh. The palate is medium bodied and velvet-smooth. The citrus mix that the nose promised is there up front, vibrant and juicy, with some gentle spice in the background. A very long, soft dry citrussy finish. Lovely drinking, it's so poised and polite. MDI Wines are made by Kevin McCarthy, husband of the famous Kathleen Quealy. MDI stands for Murray Darling Italy, all of the grapes have deep Italian roots and are sourced from vineyards near Mildura. The famous Chalmers vineyard in Merebin, the other is the lesser known yet still very interesting Pasut Vineyard in Sunnycliffs.
