Yangarra Estate Vineyard Noir 2020 750ml

Noir is Yangarra's frustratingly named Australian nod to the great table wines of Cotes du Rhone, produced from a blend of old vine Grenache, Carignan, Cinsault and Counoise grapes. Deep inky crimson purple colour with generous aromas of raspberry, dried flowers, liquorice, spice, earth and a little leather, the palate is medium-bodied, velvet smooth and strikes the right balance between interesting and smashable, there is intrigue and complexity there for people who ponder, but not in a challenging or confronting way. It's just yeah, yum red. And definitely not Pinot Noir.
