Cantina Torre Zambra is a family owned producer in the small, picturesque village of Villamagna, about 10kms from the East coast of Italy. This wine is produced from Passerina grapes, a relatively obscure variety, largely isolated to this region. Pale gold in colour, this wine has strong Jura vibes on the nose; yeasty bread, brioche, apple and brine. The palate is medium bodied and full of lime, kumquat, almonds and flor. Really long, dry olive briney, brioch-ey aftertaste. It's definitely worthy of the quirky category, but by god it's good. A cracker of a white for thrill-seekers.
