Shedshaker is a very small brewery and taproom in the middle of an art, food & drink hub in the buildings of a former wool mill in Castlemaine, Victoria. The house style here is 'cruisy' beers, nothing with any sharp prickly or exotic edges, rather beers you can comfortably knock down a few of while eating their delicious homemade pizza or listening to one of the judiciously curated music acts they have playing. Due to the size of the brewery and the expense of getting a mobile canning line out for the day, canned beers from Shedshaker are a rare, but hopefully more common occurrence.
This is a dark Lager brewed with roasted malt and espresso coffee from Shedshaker's neighbours at The Mill, Coffee Basics AKA Das Kaffeehaus. It's a medium-bodied, aromatic, dry, roasty-bitter smashable number that's great to get things started. Might go alright with a Tiramisu, too... I'll have to get around to trying that.
