Here's a delicious little number by the impressive Ocean Reach brewery on Philip Island, who seem to be on a similar trajectory to Bonehead, albeit a couple of years behind. Quietly churning out an eclectic array of really reliable, affordable booze, catering mainly to locals, but now beginning to spread their wings.
It looks so pretty in the glass. Delicate aromas of strawberry, grass clippings, bubblegum, green stems. The palate is sensational; pops of fruit, with spicy herb notes and a great little bitter flourish at the end. Sacrifices some wow factor for some simplicity, but that demonstrates a clear understanding of the assignment.
I can't help but notice the synergy between Saison & Ska music. Appreciated day-to-day by a very small niche, but when exposed to the masses - people seem to relish in it, question why they haven't done more of it, and resolve to do more of it. Then the genre changes on the radio, or spotify, or someone wafts an IPA under your nose, Ska & Saison reverts back to the niche. STAY FIRM SAISON AND SKA FRIENDS.
