Lagrein is a variety not often seen in Australia, unfortunately. This fruit was grown at Chalmers Vineyard near Heathcote in Victoria and cobbled into vino by Adam Paleg at Mount Towrong. It pours a deep dark violet colour and smells bright and vibrant; think mixed dark berries with some floral hints, a smidge earthy too. On the palate it's bright and juicy upfront before a kinda quirky dry finish; it's a little bit spritzy and bitter. Quirky wine, but we're more than okay with it.
$33.00 per bottle. $30.36 each in any dozen or more wines. Mixed or straight.
