Millon Impressionist Tempranillo 2022 750ml

This 2022 Tempranillo was grown in Millon's Eden Valley vineyard which sits at 550m above sea level. The altitude combined with 2022s cooler than average weather has yielded an elegant Australian take on the Spanish classic. 

Vivid, appealing deep garnet colour. The first sniff is really polite; profoundly spicy; pepper, cinammon, nutmeg, then ripe blueberry, which intensifies persists through the palate, which has a leg on either side of the light/medium weight fence. Much more flavour is packed in here than the nose suggests. It's almost ripe and tart blueberry though, then the spices and herbs. This is a strange tasting note... that spice on the nose has me all confused. So let's summarise. Smells spicy. Tastes like blueberry. With peppery spices. Light body. Elegant, almost refreshing.
