Winemaker Hamish Young sourced these grapes from Murrambateman, a region just North of Canberra that's been made famous by Clonakilla. It was made by fermenting 1/3 whole bunch, 2/3 whole berry. Post fermentation it spent 5 months in concrete egg & stainless steel. It pours a really bright vivid crimson, and an intensely peppery nose - mixed berries, bit of bacon. The palate is lively, too - again with the pepper, mixed berries, charcuterie, a hint of junper. Very soft tannin in the long peppery finish. A very slurpable food wine.
