Hugel Gentil 2022 750ml

A long standing favourite wine from a long standing favourite producer, Gentil is an Alscace blend of Gewurztraminer with some Pinot Gris & Riesling, sometimes some Muscat & Sylvaner too. 

It pours a straw colour and smells awesome; it reminds me of the huge honeysuckle plant that's draped over the fence on Gilmour street in Spring. There's notes of lychee and pear there too. The palate is soft and rounded ripe, sweet lychee & peach with some ginger and spice lurking with a hint of amaro bitterness, finishes lingering ripe lychee & apricot and ginger flavours, not a wine for those who like them super dry - but it isn't sweet either. This is awesome with any coconut based Thai curries.
