Emmalene Pinot Noir 2024 750ml
Emmalene Pinot Noir 2024 750ml
Pinot Noir from Lenswood in the Adelaide Mountains. I don't know why they insist on calling it hills; I was there recently and it's mountainous! Your car brakes do not smell after driving down a hill, a mountain on the other hand.....! Anyhow, vino! Bright crimson, cherry, strawberry, violet and marshmallow, spearmint leaves and herbs - particularly oregano. Quite a complex nose, particularly as you agitate the glass and open it up. Initially the palate is quite savoury, and herby, the fruit struggles to fight its way through, but when it does, it punches through bright and clear, the finish is long and dry, again more savoury than fruity, all told a lovely wine for the table - this would kick butt with Bolognese or a nice Lasagna, a Chicken Parma, it's a wine that'll kick butt with tomato and protein, for the couch I'd be looking elsewhere.
