DeBortoli Noble One 2021 375ml

Noble One is Australia’s most famous sticky. First made in the 1980s when we drank wine that was much sweeter, names like Porphry Sauternes by Lindemans, Ben Ean Moselle, Brown Bros Muscat & Flora were selling bucketloads; but these wines were wearing tracky dacks and moccasins, Noble One burst onto the scene in a tuxedo and high polish Oxfords. Since then it's picked up more silverware than the blokes in the Baggy Green.

2021 was a warm season without any chaotic heat spikes, and cool nights - great flavour development and great acid is a signature of the vintage. This pours golden, with aromas of apricot, marmalade, honey and orange blossom. The palate is rich, punchy and precise; citrus, blossom, stonefruit, custard, mixed peel and spice, cut through by lovely acidity. It finishes long, silky and clean. The benchmark for Australian Botrytis wine and the inspiration for many to follow.
