Charlish & Co Rosso 2022 750ml

Dolcetto, Lagrein, Terodelgo & Sangiovese from the lovely Adelaide Hills cobbled together by Rebecca Stubbs & Duane Coates MW. 

Dolcetto traditionally brings blackberry and chocolate flavours in a silky texture, pepper often pops up. Terodelgo is inky black and proper spicy. Lagrein is earthy again, plum is the most prominent fruit and earthy characteristics come in to play. Finally, Sangiovese is renowned for it's red fruit and herby characteristics. Let's see how they all come together...

Sure enough it's an inky colour! Bright and lively at the rim. To sniff it's quite elegant, there's a floral perfume there, warm spice and plums. Initially the palate is ripe and juicy, bright red fruit pops - raspberry and cranberry; the tartness is refreshing. Plenty of flavour packed into a light frame, towards the back the taut racy acid nicely frames the earthy leathery savoury notes. Finishes taut and dry. This is a really interesting and enjoyable light red.
