Chaffey Brothers Dufte Punkt 2024 750ml

One of my all time favourite wines, Dufte Punkt is an Aussie take on the Alsace classic style of Gewurz, Riesling & friends. Sourced from a single vineyard in the Eden Valley made up of Gewurztraminer, Riesling & Kerner, I reckon there's been ten vintages of this wine I've tried, and I've loved them all. 

This one's pale lemon in colour and smells lovely; jasmine, lime, peach, lychee. It's soft and lusciously textured with heaps of fragrant floral flavours intertwined with the peach & lychee, the Gewurz influence unmistakable, particularly when the ginger and spice kicks in. Kerner is contributing texture and weight while Riesling's acidity helps keep things moving and fresh. It's a lovely wine, ripe and flavoursome, plenty of sweet ripe fruit balanced out by crunchy acid and spice.
