Nebbiolo grapes grown in Myrtleford, Victoria. A whole year spend on skins before being pressed to barrel. Crimson in colour with a brick hue and slight haze. It's a pretty aromatic wine with big whiffs of twigs, leather, tobacco leaf above a berry mush layer. The palate is medium-bodied, and beautifully integrated, it's quite soft for a local Nebbiolo, carrying lovely soft berry flavours held up with plenty of savoury, spice and earthy notes. The palate is long, dry, and features a burst of raspberry, herbs and liquorice tea. I'm not sure they know how to make bad wine up at Billy Button, everything we've seen has just been a question of "how good?" The answer this time is ... very.
