Ardbeg 10 Year Old Single Malt 700ml

Ardbeg is my favourite Islay distillery. The whiskies are unapologetically Islay; massive, peat smoky, medicinal, seeweedy, oily, barbecue-y - but Ardbeg's incredible oak regime headed up by Dr Bill Lumsden and their distinctive purifier adds polish and complexity that I don't think the others on the island achieve. To go with the clunky, brash peated whisky flavours, there's a fresh floral and citrus characteristic there that prevents the whisky from being stodgy. Magnificent stuff. Non chill filtered.
