Adams Distillery Single Malt Whisky Signature Series 1 700ml

Adams Distillery is just outside Launceston and they've been chipping away at it for a few years, occasionally with some really good results. It has been very expensive, and difficult to scale as the releases are small. This seeks to address these issues, employing a mix of casks (Bourbon, Sherry, Pinot Noir) in an attempt to display a house style. This a really positive shift in my view, and it's one to be applauded. The premium tiny production premium rare premium exclusive luxury deluxe model employed by many Tasmanian distillers is tiresome. The rare exceptional single cask releases should be the exception, not the rule in my view. Super malty, chewy and powerful - but for all it's power it is well balanced and poised. Delicious and something not said often about Tasmanian whisky; bloody good value - a full sized bottle and above 40%, you can't go wrong.
